My son began to play the violin after I read Shinichi Suzuki’s book, Nurtured by Love.  His dear teacher then was quite adept at smilingly nurturing my son’s fledgling violin talent during their half hour lesson each week. We eventually moved, and my son did not take violin lessons for a year and a half.  Through some unforeseen, yet serendipitous happenings, he recently found a very enthusiastic teacher who also directs a youth orchestra.  My son is downstairs playing some of his past Suzuki pieces, and the sound he is creating is beauty to my soul.

  1. I would like one of my children to play the violin but if you don't have the patience, I know I definitely won't.

  2. Keep it up Julia. I know that you are too hard on yourself. You are a very patient person. But, alas, that is the mothers curse I think. To always believe that we aren't doing good enough. I sure miss having you here, I wish so much we could have spent more time together over Christmas. I got your beautiful birthday wish. I loved it so much, that John is a wonderful singer. All your kids have musical talent. Love ya.
